Our client is an SME in its field for advanced military systems for aerospace and land-based platforms and currently has a need for a Defence Product Program Manager to lead, develop and grow their current specialised systems for future and current sovereign Defence capability.
Those with connections across Defence, a strong understanding of UAV systems/platforms and ability to lead and guide projects from acquisition to sustainment are encouraged to apply.
Must be an Australian Citizen and have ITAR compliance.
Based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, permanent full-time with flexibility.

🪪Role: Defence Products Program Manager

📍Location: Eastern suburbs, Melbourne, VIC

👔Employment: Permanent full-time

Role and responsibilities:

  • Lead programs for the design, development, and implementation of automated mechatronic systems for defence applications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers and technicians
  • Oversee the integration of advanced robotics, sensors, and automation technologies into defence systems
  • Manage task and resource allocation to ensure timely and successful project delivery
  • Explore initiatives to maximise companies profitability and growth
  • Research and develop business strategies for future product growth and development
  • Oversee the integration of advanced robotics, sensors and automation technologies for military application
  • Provide leadership and people management for performance and development
  • Ensure open feedback exists between staff and manage skills matrix and training requirements as needed
  • Manage quality assurance and risk mitigation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or postgraduate degree in engineering or project management (I.e. BSc / Engineering / BAMSc / MBA)
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Defence industry experience or knowledge of UAV operations and design
